In 2010 Galapagos ICE received the Merito de la Colaboracion con el Gobierno Municipal/ Merit Award for Cooperation with the Municipal Government. This is a high honor in the Galapagos Islands.
In 2009 Emily Caldwell (Pozo), the President and Founder of Galapagos ICE, received the Outstanding Alumni Award: Spirit of St. Francis, from Viterbo University.
Galapagos ICE has affiliations with the following organisations:
- The Cantonal Council for Children and Adolescents (CCNNA). Headed by the mayor of Santa Cruz, Leopoldo Bucheli, this council endeavors to maintain the well-being of children and adolescents on Santa Cruz Island. Member since January, 2010.
- The Cantonal Council for Health. Headed by the mayor of Santa Cruz, Leopoldo Bucheli, this council strives to improve the health of Santa Cruz residents through effective public policy. Member since January, 2010.
- The Special Committee for the Management of Inter-Institutional Fight against Domestic and Gender Violence (CEMILVIF). Headed by the mayor of Santa Cruz, this council is tasked with vastly decreasing the incidence of domestic and gender violence. Member since October, 2010.
Ecuadorian Institutional Agreements
Galapagos ICE was recognized as a legitimate and legal NGO by the Ecuadorian government in 2009. It presently pursues its mission under a Formal Agreement.
Galapagos ICE was recognized as a committed partner by the Santa Cruz Municipal Government in 2005; by the parish of Santa Rosa in 2008; and by the parish of Bellavista in 2009.
Galapagos ICE was recognized as a valued partner by La Junta De Beneficiencia, the oldest and most respected humanitarian foundation in Ecuador in 2010.
