    Restoring Playgrounds

Overview| Why Volunteer? | Life in Galapagos | Groups | ExpensesFundraising  | FAQ | Apply

Galapagos ICE has built two eco-playgrounds using recycled or reused materials and aims to build eco-playgrounds for the Green School Initiative, however, after speaking with representatives from the Municipal Government, there is a need to recuperate the current nine playgrounds that are overrun by weeds and are in need of a fresh coat of paint to make it more attractive to families  Unfortunately some of the parks, because they are rundown, can occasionally be a place at night for drinking alcohol.  Playgrounds can be a wonderful place for parents to take their children.  Groups work with the local Municipal Government painting playgrounds and piers, weeding and planting on certain occasions.

If you are interested in bringing a group of volunteers to the Galapagos please fill out a Group Application Form and e-mail it to volunteer@galapagosice.org.
